The base for this Gathering of our Clan will be the Express by Holiday Inn Edinburgh City Centre, 4 Picardy Place, (Top of Leith St.) Edinburgh, EH1 33T (Ph. 0131 558 2300 or from o/seas 44 131 558 2300). - It is a 5 minute walk to Princes Street, a 10 minute walk to the Royal Mile & a little further on to Holyrood Park. Located near the St. James Shopping Centre & Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre. – It has free internet access within their Business Centre and free access of 30 minutes per room per day. (Ask at Reception for voucher.) The Time Table of events follows: Day 1. Thursday 23 rd July 2009. 4 – 6pm. Registration Desk will be open to greet arrivals. 7pm. Informal meal at the Express by Holiday Inn with any Clanfolk present (at own expense). Day 2. Friday 24 th July. 10am – 12noon. Registration Desk will be open. 12 noon – 2pm. Lunch break. 2 – 4pm. Clan Parliament at the Express by Holiday Inn (All should attend and participate.) 6 – 11pm. Clan Dinner in Castlehill Room at The Scotch Whisky Experience, 354 Castlehill, The Royal Mile, Edinburgh, with the Ceilidh in the Amber Bar of the Whisky Bond. Clanfolk wishing to take an active part in the Ceilidh please advise at time of booking. (For those so inclined afterward, adjourn over the road to Dean Brodies traditional Bar.) Day 3. Saturday 25 th July. 9am – 6pm. “The Gathering 2009” at Holyrood Park. At your own leisure and pleasure, with our Clan’s tent your base & meeting place for the day. 7:30pm Clanfolk with a Passport for “The Gathering 2009” to marshal (in alphabetic order in the vicinity of Holyrood House) for the Clan Parade up the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle and be seated in the Castle esplanade for the Clan Pageant from 10pm to 11pm. Day 4. Sunday 26 th July. 9am – 6pm. “The Gathering 2009” at Holyrood Park. At your own leisure and pleasure, with our Clan’s tent your base & meeting place for the day. 3pm. Our Clan’s farewell meeting at our Clan MacLennan tent in “The Gathering 2009”. 7pm. Informal farewell evening meal at the Express by Holiday Inn (at own expense). (The total package cost is GB£65 – Excluding entry to “The Gathering 2009” event . - Accommodation and meals at own expense, except for the Clan Dinner & Ceilidh which is included in the package.- No charge for babies of course, but children have to pay the full price as we are operating on a no margin basis.)
